Columbia road flower market...

♥ Ceri makes...  spent my Sunday morning pottering through the crowded but colurful Columbia road flower market.  There was such a beautiful selection of plants and flowers being flogged by lively real life Eastenders!  Lots of bargains to be had - cut flowers were going for a fiver for three bunches by 12 o'clock,  so if your after a bargain I'd recommend heading down after lunch before the stalls pack up.

As tempting as it was to come home with armfuls of flowers to make the flat look jolly my project for the weekend was to liven up the window boxes and flowerbeds in our garden.  Decided to cheat and get some daffs that are about to spring,  the colourful trays of primroses also caught my eye...

After a much deserved cup of tea and bagel we headed home to plant up our rather empty window boxes, very pleased with the results...

So now actually looking forwards to washing up and admiring the view of my new found green fingered skills! x

Three things...

Just three things from my day that I thought I would share...

1.  ♥ Ceri makes...  revived my parma violet nail varnish after spotting Alexa Chung teaming lilac nails with her breton stripes and camel coat @ the Topshop Unique show at London Fashion Week...

2.  I love my new shoes bought today from New Look...

3.  Finally ♥ Ceri makes... enjoyed a rather delicious nicoise salad for my supper (although too busy chatting = the tuna was somewhat overcooked!)...

Here's hoping for a lovely week x

Birthday cupcakes...

♥ Ceri makes...  has been busy in the kitchen whipping up some birthday cupcakes for MummyB.  Possibly one of the easiest and most delicious recipes I've come across is the Hummingbird bakery vanilla cupcakes.  Be sure to use real vanilla extract rather than essence as it really does make the difference!  An hour or two in the kitchen equals LOTS of happy friends.

My top tip for adding an extra wow factor is a sprinkling of edible glitter and even some cute decorations...

Enjoy x

Silversmithing...

♥ Ceri makes...   had a fun day of silversmithing at The Papered Parlour,  a hop and a skip from Clapham Common.  The workshop studio was gorgeous, decked out with lots of lovely vintage treasures...

The day started with a quick overview from the lovely Caren Hartley,  then we quickly set to work designing our rings,  I took my inspiration from a treasured Monica Vinader ring that I just don't wear enough and a gorgeous ring from a work sample sale.

It was a bit tricky at first getting to grips with the tools - particularly soldering the tiny spheres onto the ring,  but with some gentle guidance I soon got the hang of it.  Super pleased with the results...

If you'd like to find out more for yourself visit the website...   http://www.thepaperedparlour.co.uk/ and a special thanks to MummyB for buying the Silversmithing workshop for me - a fantastic christmas present  ...something I can keep forever x
