Pasta making...

♥ Ceri makes...  made the most of being indoors to avoid the rain by making a delicious spinach and ricotta cannelloni from one of my new birthday cookbooks from the lovely Jezza.  Using an imperia pasta machine it really is a lot easier to make simple sheets of pasta than you may imagine!  There is nothing quite like homemade fresh pasta,  so much lighter than both shop bought fresh pasta and a million miles away from dried pasta.  Yummy!

Future Cinema Bugsy Malone...

♥ Ceri makes...  had an AMAZING time at the Troxy in East London with Future Cinema Bugsy Malone.  From the moment we arrived in our twenties outfits it was like stepping into Fat Sam's Speakeasy;  from the dancing girls performing around the tables to Fat Sam's gang members running about place you couldn't help but get in the spirit of this truly interactive evening.

Keep your eyes peeled on their website and twitter page for upcoming Future Cinema events,  looking forwards to my next one already!

Hall & Woodhouse Bath...

♥ Ceri makes...  continued the birthday celebrations with my home girls over dinner and drinks at Hall & Woodhouse in Bath.  Tucked behind Jolly's on Old King Street Hall & Woodhouse has a great atmosphere and friendly service.  The decor and layout have been beautifully thought out,  the glass balcony staircase creates a stunning centrepiece as do the various chandeliers.

The restaurant serves hearty seasonal food sourced from regional suppliers.  Our table enjoyed a variety of dishes,  including the venison sausages with dauphinoise potatoes which was heavenly!

A must do when you are next passing through Bath!

Birthday times...

♥ Ceri makes...  celebrated my birthday with some of my best girls at the London pad.  With a leisurely afternoon to spare I whipped up some treats from my Chinese Food Made Easy cookery book by Ching-He Huang.  For starter I made the roast char sui pork puffs,  which were delicious served with crispy seaweed.

Followed by the not so photogenic but incredibly flavoursome Singapore Noodles...

And lastly some refreshing lychee & lime juice jellies  ...which having now made I would advise to prepare the night before to ensure that they have fully set.

All of this was washed down of course with plenty of birthday fizz and in the oriental spirit a few glugs of sake!  The girls also suprised me with some yummy red velvet cupcakes...

Sunday night suppers...

♥ Ceri makes...  whizzed up some pesto for a simple Sunday night supper.  To make some at home toast a small handful of pine nuts,  then whizz in a blender with a bunch of basil,  parmesan to taste,  a couple of cloves of garlic and  some generous glugs of olive oil.  Whizz to a puree and have a little try,  then adjust to your taste if necessary.  I like to add a splash of lemon juice and a little lemon zest to add a slightly sharper edge.  You should have enough for a few servings so keep any leftovers in a jar in the fridge for up to five days,  for a change from pasta try a little dollop on top of soup.  Yummy!!
